Meet Julissa
Hi, I’m Julissa, a cultural travel advisor helping families and groups experience Latin America through connection, culture, and care.
I’ve traveled to over 20 countries and stood in awe of five of the world’s wonders, but my relationship with travel has never been about how far I’ve gone. It’s about where I come from. I grew up in the Dominican Republic, and for us islanders, travel is a way of understanding the world. By the time I was ten, I had already walked some of the most sacred lands across North and South America, learning early how place carries history, memory, and meaning. Those experiences shaped how I move through the world and what I look for when I travel.
When I moved to the United States at 19, I found myself navigating a new culture, a new language, and a quiet longing to stay connected to my roots, my people, and myself. Travel became the bridge between who I was and who I was becoming. It taught me how to belong in more than one place at once.
Over the years, I built a career in project management, data analytics, and coaching, learning how to hold complex details, work across personalities, and lead with both clarity and care. Those same skills now shape how I design travel experiences. I use simple systems to create ease, I listen closely and ask thoughtful questions, and I manage the behind-the-scenes so you do not have to.
Today, I specialize in thoughtfully designed journeys for families, friends, and small groups, especially those navigating shared history, meaningful milestones, or multigenerational travel. I believe who you travel with matters just as much as where you are going. I am not just booking hotels or activities. I am helping create experiences that strengthen connection.
As a mom, I know how rare uninterrupted joy can feel and how easily a vacation can turn into just another thing to manage. I also understand the quiet hope many of us carry that our children will see the world with kindness, explore other cultures with respect, and stay connected to an ancestry that can sometimes feel like it is slipping away.
The work I do is about helping families pass on language, belonging, and grace to the next generation. That is why my approach to travel is rooted in trust, transparency, and care before you travel, while you are there, and long after you return.
My goal is simple. To make travel easier, more intentional, and more accessible. Because I believe that when we experience the world and each other with care, we build empathy that lasts far beyond the journey.
I am here to hold the logistics so you can be present for the moments that matter. Whether you are planning a meaningful return, a shared celebration, or your first trip that truly feels like yours, you do not have to do it alone.
Let’s make your next journey feel like a true exhale and bring meaning to every mile.
